NEW JERSEY SLIP AND FALL LAW MAY COVER ADJOINING PROPERTY

In New Jersey, as in other states, under what is known as "premises liability," the owner of commercial or residential property has a duty to maintain the premises so as to minimize the risk of injury to anyone legally on the property. PROTECTING YOUR RIGHTS AFTER A BURN INJURY

DEALING WITH THE AFTERMATH OF A BURN INJURY

One of the most debilitating and painful injuries you can suffer involves any type of burn...chemical, electrical or fire (or thermal) burns. In addition to permanent scarring and disfigurement, you can suffer nerve damage, loss of flexibility or mobility, loss of limb, depression and other emotional trauma. In addition to the pain and discomfort, you may need multiple surgeries, as well as extensive physical therapy, to move back toward some semblance of a normal life.

WHAT IS A STRUCTURED PERSONAL INJURY SETTLEMENT?

In the context of a personal injury claim or lawsuit, a structured settlement is an agreement whereby the responsible party-usually an insurance company-agrees to pay a specific amount to settle a claim and agrees to make regular payments over an agreed-upon period of time. Structured settlements are most common in personal injury cases with a lot of money at stake, such as catastrophic injury or wrongful death cases.
