CRIME BOSS SENTENCED

New York resident Matthew Madonna, allegedly one of the ruling bosses of the Lucchese crime family, was sentenced earlier this month to five years in the New Jersey state prison facility in Trenton, after pleading guilty to running an illegal gambling operation. Madonna was formally charged with violation of the Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute. According to law enforcement officials, the gambling operation was mostly online and involved bets exceeding $ 2 billion.

JETS' GOODSON INDICTED ON WEAPONS CHARGES IN NEW JERSEY

New York Jets running back Michael Goodson has been indicted on weapons charges stemming from a traffic stop in New Jersey. Goodson was discovered by police in Denville in May 2013. During a traffic stop, police recovered a loaded .45-caliber handgun and one hollow point bullet. Goodson faces unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of prohibited weapons and devices.
