Gun Laws In New Jersey

New Jersey law requires any weapons holder to have a lifetime firearm purchaser card to purchase or own rifles, shotguns, handguns and ammunition. Owners must also have a separate permit from a local police department for each handgun. Those permits must be renewed within 90 days of expiration. Handguns can be purchased every 30 days. If you are in violation of any of the gun laws or permit laws in New Jersey, you could face serious fines and penalties.
