Paterson Police Brutality – New Jersey Men Alexis Aponte and Miguel Rivera Beaten By Cops

Alexis Aponte and Miguel Rivera, two northern New Jersey men, allege that police in Paterson used excessive force during a 2011 arrest. As proof of the incident, the incident was caught on film and has been introduced as evidence. The footage appears to show Aponte being kicked repeatedly while handcuffed and then dragged down the street during a weapons-related arrest that occurred in September 2011. A police brutality suit was filed in Federal Court in Newark, New Jersey, naming the Paterson Police Department, as well as individual officers, as defendants. Full article.
